New and used Mazda RX8 cars for sale
The new Mazda RX-8 is a high performance car manufactured by Mazda Motor Corporation; which first appeared in North America at the North American International Motor Show 2001. The vehicle features a RENESIS rotary engine which won International Engine of the Year and Best New Engine awards 2003.
The Mazda RX8 car was also Wheels Magazine's Car Of The Year for 2003 and was on Car and Driver magazines Ten Best list for 2004. The engine redlines at 9000 rpm for the UK version. The car is also used in the Formula Women racing series which started in 2004 and more recently the S1 Production Series Britcars.
The Mazda RX8 performance comes from a new RENESIS rotary engine, which is smaller and lighter than prior rotaries, yet yields more power. To cut down on cost there is no Mazda RX8 turbo or supercharger, like the RX-7. Mazda does however plan on releasing a Mazdaspeed variant of the RX-8 with a different front fascia, upgraded handling, and perhaps a supercharger although details of this have yet to be confirmed.
